Smart Women2020 Wrap-Up
On 25 April, we enjoyed a terrific Smart Women2020 event celebrating International Girls in ICT Day, that included a keynote speech kicking off the day by the United Nations ITU Secretary-General, Dr. Hamadoun I. Touré.
The Smart Women2020 event was attended by a total of forty-five invited speakers and participants and followed online via 125 webstreaming nodes and Twitter. A full report on the event, entitled “Women2020: Smart Progress,” is available here, and be sure to enjoy further highlights below.
Regarding two important announcements made during the Smart Women2020 event, please find here links to the Women2020 Pledge and to inQube, Europe’s first digital female accelerator network, which will be formally launched at the next Women2020 breakfast briefing, “Women in Enterprise for Sustainanble Growth,” on 15 May at Google in Brussels.
In addition, with the patronage of the European Centre for Women and Technology and DIGITALEUROPE, Women2020 Founder, Cheryl Miller, had the honor of launching the Digital Woman of the Year, Digital Girl of the Year and Digital Impact-Organisation of the Year Awards — prizes aimed at recognizing individual women, girls and organizations who distinguish themselves by improving the uptake of digital skills and jobs by girls and women in Europe. More news on the awards will be forthcoming soon via Zen Digital Europe.
